For 30 years, Stéphane Collaro was an iconic figure on French television. From Le Petit Rapporteur to Le Bébête Show, and from Coco Boy to Collaricoco-Show, he spanned generations of entertainment. Yet "Uncle Mayonnaise," as he was affectionately nicknamed, always remained true to one thing: a brand of playful, irreverent, good-natured ensemble comedy. Surrounded by a merry band of comic performers, he left a lasting mark on French television comedy from the 1970s through the 1990s.

For a quarter of a century, Stéphane Collaro embodied a style of television humor that was often dismissed, sometimes condescendingly as "provincial," or more harshly as "crude" or "unsophisticated."

He also pioneered fake television commercials and, above all, created a groundbreaking new form of political satire with Le Bébête Show.
